A global industrial company with purchases of more than 2 billion EUR saw its annual results began to plateau. Therefore, top management decided that a new and ambitious strategy for total purchases should be developed.
To define the new strategy, Prokura completed a large project in three phases.
- Phase 1: fact-based review of the company’s total purchases
- Phase 2: introduce a number of ambitious goals for the next 5 years
- Phase 3: conduct a series of workshops to anchor the strategy throughout the organization
The project resulted in a fundamental change of corporate purchasing. Within a wide range of categories we changed the procurement structure and made it much more centralized. Just a few months after we had implemented the strategy, the new purchasing unit itself executed a number of successful projects that delivered unprecedented results.
