A global medical device company decided to implement a major program concentrated on the optimization of indirect procurement categories. Although some tendering rounds for a range of categories have already been conducted by the client, there was still a belief that savings could be found. Prokura was requested to make proposals on how any potential savings could be secured.
Together with the client organization, it was decided to focus on six of the most promising categories (total volume of EUR +30 million):
- Web Consultants
- Legal services
- Office supplies
- Test Houses
- Market Studies
Prokura, in collaboration with the client’s employees, conducted a structured bidding process for all categories in 8 weeks.
The process ensured overall savings of DKK +9 million. In addition, the most optimal agreements were secured with existing suppliers, so a majority of the savings had immediate effect.
